  1. I have a chihuahua named AUGEE. It came from the fact he was born in August. I once had a black pomeranian who was no more than 3 lbs. who i named MUFASA, a lion from the lion king, which i thought was hilarious because he was so small. I also had a white and tan pomerianian I named TiINKER BELL but we called TINKER.

  2. I have a PEANUT (pug crossed with jack Russell) RINGO but we call him dingo (neighbor calls him bingo) ha I had a HARLEY (solid black RIP) LEXI (Staffie cross) TOOTSIE (chihuahua – named after tootsie rolls) also has a German Shepard growing up his name was REBEL my sister has a jack Russell shitzu cross named OLIVER and a Rottweiler named RUBY my hubby had a black pitbull growing up he named DAYTONA and a Merle Great Dane named LACEY

  3. I had a rare breed called Argentine Dogo, which are all white, muscular and huge with cropped ears. He was a big, friendly guy but at first look, most people were afraid to go near him. A ‘Doberman on steroids with an over-sized Pit Bull head’ was the best description of the breed I’ve heard. All that, combined with the fact he was born on Halloween night, gave me an idea for the perfect name – Spooky (short Spook).

  4. I am picking out potential names for my new puppy…could use some help, I’ve got quite a list:
    Monroe
    Sailor
    Motley
    Ash
    Poe
    Buddha
    Sheva
    Zen
    Grimm
    Griffin
    Maine – that’s my State
    Knox
    Brut
    Maguillicuddy
    Merlot

  5. My dog has the best name! She is a female party toy poodle. Her name is Palette. We named her Palette, because of my interest in oil painting. But Palette could also be a great name for a dentist or construction worker.

  6. Mongo. 140 pound yellow lab, great pyrenees mix. He was the character Alex Karas played in Blazing Saddles.
We adopted him from the local no kill shelter when he was 10 months old. We were his fourth family.

  7. We have a Golden Retriever named Faeden, which is Gaelic for golden. My brother in law’s Golden Retriever had the name Lyric. Two very cool and unusual names.

  8. My 2 year old yellow female is Rainey, should have called her Hurricane lol. 9 yr black is Sophie and just an easy going eager to please girl. We have had Joker ,Cricket both blacks and Maggie was my first yellow❤

  9. I have two dogs. A girl and a boy. The girl is a pure bread Golden Retriever and her name is Josie. The boy is a Goldendoodle; half Golden Retriever and half standard poodle. His name is Teddy or Ted for short. It’s not short for Theodore,It’s just Teddy. My favorite name out of the 300 is Blaire. There were a lot of others I liked as well but if I had to pick. It would be that one.

  10. Kizzie – a loopy foxy coloured Yorkie X Pom 1yr in May, head down ears back and charges round the garden with Libby my champagne and apricot cockerpoo, 1yr in July very loving to my new sable cockerpoo puppy Piper 12 weeks who is so determined independent and persistent, all different personalities playing together and have made me so happy to be with the girls.

  11. I have 3 dogs who gives me so much pleasure, kizzi was the first a Yorkie X Pom 1yr in May, foxy type colour, the second Libbie a champagne and apricot cockerpoo, so pretty and loving 1yr in July,I now have a sable cockerpoo, piper 12 weeks, very persistent and determined, all beautiful girls and different personalities.

  12. We Have a Black female named Bay, the breeder lives on a Bay, and Yellow male named Niko, he looks like my side of the{Italian) family , they are great companions and we love them both. They are both retired therapy dogs.

  13. Loved this!! I always need dog names for the stories I write and I can’t believe you included Bucky on superheroes!!! I ended up choosing Bono though….due to a conversation I had with a friend earlier…but thanks for the useful resource!

  14. I got a 2 year old rescue black labrabull, lab/pit mix, her name (female) was Trixie, but didn’t think the name fit her as she was very strong and stout looking, but ready to lay on your lap and cuddle with you. I joke around and tell people i got a 70lb lap dog. We came up with Frankie derived from Frankenstein.. her looks with her personality is like a big monster baby..

  15. Rescued a 2 year old mix just before Christmas – he’s Lucas (after the Rifleman)
Another coming home tomorrow – he’s Jet (because he’s black and very sleek) and in 2 weeks, were taking in one last older dog and were trying to decide between Einstein and Zeppelin. He’s got messy hair and bushy eyebrows!

  16. Riggs – named after the character Martin Riggs in Lethal Weapon and he looked like the characters dog Sam. We rescued him when he was one and he went on to become an agility champion, our lethal weapon! We just had to say goodbye to him, he lived to be 17+

  17. our rescued MaltiPoo was named Zeke but he never responded to it (he was 4 months old)… we tried numerous names on him and my husband called out “Rowdy!” and he responded immediately… so Rowdy it is… He is a love but definitely a rowdy!

  18. My chocolate Lab is named Vada. I named her after my grandmother. My late Great Dane’s were named Danger, Kiah pronounced (Ky ah), and Gentle.

  19. I had a Black Lab. Her name was Apollonia. It was a great name for her. I now have a Chocolate Lab 6 month old male and his name is Monk.

  20. Jericho was my female black lab I had for 13 years! She was the sweetest & smartest dog I’ve ever had! Miss her so much!

  21. I’m a kid of late 60’s. My three rescue (05.05.14, 3 yo)(females) pointer/lab mixes, at 8 weeks old are named: Kasper – she’s all white, dwarf dominant lab features, at. 25 lbs. Snoopy: spots on her back like Charlie Brown’s Snoopy. She’s red baron like, stands on Her dog house. Pebbles: she all shades of brown, hazel eyes. Looks like her moms Choco lab. All named after sum of my favorite toon charters. (“Casper” the friendly ghost, “Peanuts gang” and “Flintstones”) Hope one of them can be add to you list. Had many compliments on my name selections. Thank You!

  22. River (female) We recently got a black lab puppy who will be spending plenty of her time on our boat and kayaking on the river – hence her name. btw…she is loving it and swims like a champ in her doggie lifejacket!
